Raymond H. Hendrickson, age 86, of Hale passed away at his home on June 30, 2016. He was born on Feb. 16, 1930 in Alabaster to Amos and Lucille (Featheringill) Hendrickson. Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Hale First United Methodist Church, Hale VFW Post 7435 and the DAV. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, farming and tinkering with his tractor. Raymond is survived by his wife, Gola of Hale; sons, John Meno of Alaska and Eric (Tyme) Hendrickson of Hale; grandchildren, Teron, Tara, Riley, Mason, Payton and Bryson; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law, Milo (Gail) Johnson of Hale; and sister-in-law, Vivian Greene of Hale. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Arthur, Robert and John Hendrickson. A memorial service will be held on July 8 at 11 a.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale with Rev. David Goudie presiding.
