Ramona M. Maestas, 90, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 in Las Vegas.She was born on Oct. 17, 1925 to Julian Aragon and Antonia Martinez-Aragon.She worked in the food service department at the United World College for many years. She loved to cook and crochet. Ramona was a Catholic, and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Antonia Aragon; husband, Louis Maestas; son, Michael Maestas; daughter, Loretta Pincheira: great-grandson, Elias Arellanes; and brothers, Florencio and Narciso Aragon.She is survived by her son, Louis Maestas and companion, Beverly Sanchez, of Las Vegas; daughters, Diane Arellanes and husband, Robert of Las Vegas, Veronica Carney and husband, Ed, of Mesquite, Nev., Frank Maestas and wife, Patricia, of Las Vegas, Nev., Jackie Archuleta and husband Frank of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, Joe Aragon and wife, Concha, of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Aragon of Las Vegas, N.M., and Bella Martinez and husband, Mel, of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great grandchildren; numerous other relatives, nieces and nephews and many friends; family would like to thank her personal caretakers: Anita, Cathy, Arcelli, Missy and Mita. They would also like to thank the following home health agencies and their staff Esperanza Home Health (Bernice and Antoinette) and all Amber Care staff (Deanne and Ramoncita); special thanks to Father George Salazar, Father Douglas Mitchell and Father John Ansiudu and George Alderete.Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral Service will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Tuesday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father John Anisidu as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Miguel Maestas, Roberto Arellanes, Luis Arellanes, Eric Armijo, Shaun Sandoval, Mark Pincheira and Michael Archuleta.
