Ramona Castro Duenas, 59, passed away on Oct. 17, 2016, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be: Joseph, Jason, Kyle, Jerome, Josh and Jesse. Honorary pallbearers are: Salapu, Brock, Keyshawn, Niko and Jaiden.Ramona was born on April 25, 1957, in Talofofo, Guam. She moved to Anchorage in 1989. She worked for Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center. She was affiliated with St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was a member of the Lions Club.Her hobbies included singing karaoke, playing bingo and listening to country music. She liked any Chuck Norris and Steven Segal movies and loved spending time with her family.Ramona's family said: "She was the strongest person in our life. She was the back bone to our family. She was very loving and not scared of anything or anyone. She spoke her mind, always."She is survived by her daughters:,Jocelyn Edwards and her son-in-law Jason of Anchorage, Jobina Duenas of Tyonek, Alaska, and Emily Duenas and her son-i- law Kyle Poitry of Wasilla, Alaska; her son, Joseph Duenas "J.Boy" of Anchorage; and her grandchildren, Keyshawn Chickalusion, Sim "Niko" Standifer and Jazmine "Aaliyah" Hawkins of Anchorage, and Bluebird "Birdie" Sunset Poitry of Wasilla.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made via Alaska USA Account #4531967.Ramona's ashes will be scattered in Talofofo, Guam.Arrangements have been entrusted to Legacy Funeral Home, Witzleben Chapel.
