Ralph M. Lemos Sr. "Kato"El Rio, CARalph M. Lemos Sr. age 86 passed away on Sunday, February 12th surrounded by his family. Ralph was born on October 24,1930 to Miguel and Dorothy Lemos and remained a lifelong resident of El Rio. Ralph spent his early years riding horses with his brothers, doing field work with his family and spending time with his grandma Marina. It was in his early years he developed his pride for being a Coastal Band Chumash member. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Ralph enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. In 1955 he married Frances Reyes (of Santa Paula). Together they were blessed with three children Ralph Jr., Albert Sr. and Angel. Ralph worked in construction, a casual longshoreman, and as a custodian. Ralph was committed to community service; as an El Rio Little League Baseball coach and is one of the founding members of the 'Lemos Boxing Gym' in El Rio. Ralph positively impacted the lives of the youth he coached and trained. However, no title or award would compare to that of 'Family Man'. Whether it be attending family bbq's or his grandchildren's events. Ralph was always loving, supportive, genuine and happy to share his profound sense of humor. Ralph is preceded by his grandma: Marina; parents: Miguel and Dorothy; siblings: Mike 'Butch', Connie 'Chona', Phillip 'Chiva', Frank 'Bosco', Rosalindo 'Pingy', Joe 'Honey', Esther and Isabel. Ralph is survived by his wife of 61 years Frances; son's Ralph (Deanna); Albert Sr. (Debra); and Angel. Grandchildren: Andrew (Teresa); Albert Jr., Daniel (Dominique), Michael (Nadine); Angela (Joshua), Andrea (Luis). Great-Grandchildren: Andrew Mateo; Derek Harold; and Michael Sieg. The family would like to thank the staff at Glenwood Care Center for all their compassionate care. Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard. A rosary will be recited at 9:30a.m. follow by a Memorial Mass at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2017 at Santa Clara Chapel 1333 East Ventura Blvd in El Rio, California.
