Ralph Joseph WheelAge: 93 • South BurlingtonRalph Joseph Wheel, 93, passed away on March 31, 2017 at the Mclure Miller Respite House. He was born on December 10, 1923 to the late Arthur and Rose (Theiren) Wheel. He proudly served his country during stationed in Japan during WWII with the US Army. He married the love of his life in 1951 Lorraine Mitchell who predeceased him 2008. He worked for O'Brien Brothers farm since the 1950's until his retirement the mid 1980's. After he retired he couldn't sit still and worked three jobs and golfed five days a week. He enjoyed golf, especially at Rocky Ridge, bowling, the Dodgers, going to JP's restaurant where everyone called him "Grandpa" and made him feel special, and mall walking with many friends at the University Mall.Left to cherish his memory are his son Ron Wheel, stepson Roy LaVigne, 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren,, his siblings Willie, Rita, and Dick, many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.The family would like to thank his friends and neighbors at Country Park in South Burlington for all the love they shared with him.Visitation will be Friday April 7, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St, Winooski, Vt 05404. Interment in at Resurrection Park in South Burlington with his beloved wife will be private at a later date.
