Robert Marion Andrews Bob was born on Dec. 19, 1941 to Ed and Edna Smith Andrews in St. Joseph, Missouri, and went to heaven on May 28, 2017 at home in Puyallup, He attended schools in St Joseph until he entered the Army at age 17. He started at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and finished his time at Fort Lewis/Yakima Firing Center in '62. Later in life he loved to tell the stories of that time. Bob became a mechanic while in the Army, and continued for many years after. Bob got married in 1960 to Sarah Schneider and they had 5 children. He met and married Gail Overmyer in 1975, and remained married until his passing. They had one daughter together, and he adopted her two children. He worked for Puget Power for 30 years. Bob loved to golf and taught his sons and daughter and their spouses that wanted to learn how to play the crazy game. They used to go a lot and have lots of stories to tell. Bob loved his family; didn't always give them their way, but loved them all and was proud when they did good things. He was known for his jokes, and sometime silliness ... and storytelling was something everyone had to listen to over and over. He enjoyed staying out at the PSE camp on Lake Tapps, and enjoyed fishing with his friends and sons and yes, there are stories to tell there also. In 1988 he gave his brother a kidney to save his brother's life, and then in 1997 he lost his other one. He got a transplant in '99 and it quit in 2000. After much care he was able to get another one in 2003, and it was good until 2012, when he went back on dialysis for the final journey. He had so many friends at dialysis and always had a "hi" for each of them when he came in and when he was done on his way out. He always had candy on him for them and for the nurses. Bob loved to go to the Hancock fabric store and buy fleece by the bolt so that Gail could make blankets to gift to the dialysis patients. He is survived by his wife Gail, children Elaine (Ron), Jack (Sue), Barry (Annette), Marita (Doug), Glen, and Kathianna (Bryan), 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one on the way, his sister Lucille Worley, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parent Ed and Edna, his brother Eddie, 2 children, and 1 grandchild. The family requests that, instead of flowers, you make a donation to in his name.
