Philip F. HavensFREMONT: Philip F. Havens, 82, of Fremont, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after battling cancer since his mid-thirties. He was born on January 8, 1935 in Fremont, the son of Willis B. and Gertrude (Young) Havens. He was a 1953 graduate of Green Springs High School.Phil married Norma Jean Brubaker on June 12, 1954 at Burgoon United Methodist Church.Phil has been a State Farm Insurance Agent for 58 years, and a Lifetime Member of their President's Club. He served on the YMCA Board, the local American Cancer Society Board, and the Memorial Hospital Board. He served as the Chair for both the YMCA and Memorial Hospital Board organizations as they raised funds for building expansions. He was very active in the Fremont Elite Runners Club and ran several marathons. Phil also held memberships with the Brainard Masonic Lodge #336, Chamber of Commerce and attended Burgoon United Methodist Church. Phil loved his community, helping people, and his family.Phil also loved his Tennessee Walking Horses. He raised, bred, trained and showed them for many years.He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Havens , Fremont, OH; children: Dr. Philip (Peggy) Havens , Findlay, OH; Kathy O'Kane, Mahomet, IL; Lori Havens, Fremont, OH; step-brother, Richard (Jackie) Hessick, Tiffin, OH; step-sister, Donna Jean Preston, Toledo, OH; grandchildren: Erica Jean (Marcus) Granado, Lake Forest, IL; Jason (Erin) Antesberger, Dallas, TX; Julie (Skip) Bourdo, Lake Forest, IL; Brent (Kelly) Antesberger, Chicago, IL; Kraig (Jennifer) Miller, Grove City, OH; Karen Havens and fiancé Matthew Kireker, Denver, CO; Kyle (Jenny) Miller, Grove City, OH; Kelly (Joseph) Madich, Columbus, OH; Kaitlin (Gian) Testa, Tallmadge, OH; Jacob Havens, Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Alexander and William Granado, Reagan and Quinn Antesberger, Charles and Maxwell Antesberger, Jack and Kate Bourdo, Olivia and a great-grandson due any day Testa, Tatum Miller, Robbie, Madison and Sophia Miller, and Patrick Madich.He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Havens, mother Gertrude (Young) Havens Hessick, step-father Dewey Hessick, brothers John and Karl Havens and mother and father in-law Dorothy and Carl Brubaker.Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH.Funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Burgoon United Methodist Church, 3269 Main Street, Burgoon, OH; additional visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at
