Penny Lynn (Harriger) Geer, age 60, of Sigel, PA, passed away in the comforts of her home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born on September 10, 1955, in Brookville, PA, to James "Jim" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Miles) Harriger. Her father Jim survives her; Betty preceded her in passing. On May 18, 1974, she married Fred P. Geer in Brookville, PA. Immediately after she graduated from high school, she started working for Deposit Bank in DuBois, PA. She later moved into a position working for Dr. Prusakowski and Dr. Lynch in Brookville, PA. After about 10 years with them she became a bus driver for the Brookville Area School District; she held that position for over 15 years. She was also the township secretary for Eldred Twp. Penny is a longtime member of the Sigel United Methodist Church and more recently she also became a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel. Penny and Fred enjoyed bowling together and she collected Cherished Teddies, of which she has many. She loved to be outdoors whether it was out hunting in the woods or going for rides with Fred on recreational vehicles.  She loved traveling, especially being able to visit out west. Penny was involved with youth groups for about 20 years in the Sigel United Methodist Church; she was very active in all church activities including, dinners, Bible study, and many more. She was also a lifetime member of the Sigel Sportmans Club. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her father and husband, Penny is survived by one son, Brad (Jolynn) Geer; one daughter, April (Matt) Oleson; one sister, Cheryl (Ron) Ploucha; one brother, Dan (Pat) Harriger; two grandsons, Zane and Hunter; five granddaughters, Skylar, Paige, Harley, Hannah, and Lily; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by 1 brother, Ted Harriger. Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 15, 2016, from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8 pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Route 322, Brookville PA, 15825, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by the Rev. Jim Fillhart. Interment will take place at the Mount Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
