AVILLA — Pauline E. Crothers, 95, of Avilla, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Parkview Noble Hospital's emergency room. She was born on July 14, 1920, to the late Merl and Gertrude (Gause) Gump. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married Clifford Crothers. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2004. She was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla, belonging to the Eve Circle. She enjoyed life, her family, and her church. She kept busy sewing walker bags for residents at the assisted living area in Presence Sacred Heart Home. Mrs. Crothers is survived by daughters, Billie (Bill) Grant of LaGrange, and Nancy (Lynn) Rowe of Avilla; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Helen Waters; a sister-in-law, Cleo Mark; and a brother-in-law, Robert Ostman. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov.29, 2015, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Avilla, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N. Main St. Burial will be at Avilla Cemetery.
