Paul Francis Lyons, Sr.Abilene, TXPaul Francis Lyons, Sr., left his earthly home to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 11:30AM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel located at 5701 Highway 277 South. Graveside services will follow with interment in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.Paul was born on November 29, 1948 in Oshkosh, WI to Millie & Robert Lyons. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from December 6, 1970 to January 31, 1989. After his retirement from the Air Force Paul worked and retired from the Taylor County Appraisal District. Paul and his wife, El, loved to go on cruises with friends and family. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and above all a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Paul loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Lyons; and sister Karla Lyons. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, El Lyons; son, Paul Frances Lyons, Jr. and his wife, Christina and their daughter, Shelby all of Winter Garden, Florida; and son, Kenneth Lyons and wife, Trista and their children, Triton, Toni and Triggs all of Carlsbad, Texas; brothers, Gary Lyons and wife, Darlene, Ron Lyons and James Lyons; sister, Toni Folski; sister-in-law, Deb Lyons; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. The family wishes to extend special thanks to their friends, family and neighbors for all their care and support.In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
