Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Darrell, and Charles Childers. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Linde and husband, Burton; sons, David Byrd and wife, Amy and Kenneth Byrd and wife, Holly; brother, Frankie Childers and wife, Jerree; five grandchildren, whom she adored, Hannah, Burkley, Kennedy, Leslie, and Rachel; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, whom she loved very much. The family will receive friends on Friday (April 28, 2017) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St Matthew United Methodist Church (2505 Nathan Street Kingsport, TN 37664). Funeral services will follow, with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Committal services will be held on Friday (April 28, 2017) at 2:30 p.m. in the Christus Garden at East Lawn Memorial Park (4997 Memorial Blvd. Kingsport, TN 37664). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Alzheimer's Foundation of America (322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor New York, NY 10001). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Renaissance Terrace, where Patsy spent the last month of her life and was well cared for; also to a special new friend, Sherry, whom the Byrd family appreciates so much.
