Patricia J. Holly RACINE Patricia Joan Holly (nee: Hrasky), 73, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on March 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Anton and Sylvia (nee: Danzer) Hrasky. Pat graduated from Horlick High School in 1958, St. Lukes School of Nursing in 1961, and Carthage College in 1974. Pat was employed by St. Lukes Hospital and the City of Racine Health Department. On February 4, 1961, Pat was united in marriage to the love of her life, Steve, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pat was a longtime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. In addition to her passion for nursing, Pat enjoyed playing tennis, watching Sunday morning news programs, watching Casablanca endless times, volunteering with the Racine Unified WINGS program, reading everything and anything, discussing and debating politics, admiring and adoring her grandchildren, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, bird watching, playing Mah Jongg with the girls, watching NCIS over and over, reading Time magazine, playing Rummikub, enjoying cocktails, attending book club, eating pizza at Wells Brothers, listening to WGN, dining out with friends, helping others, donating to countless charities, and spending time with her family and her many, many dear friends. she did it her way. Pat is survived by her son, Christopher Holly of Racine; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Holly and William Podkowa of Shorewood, IL; grandchildren, Anthony and Elizabeth Podkowa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Patricia Holly of Springville, CA; brother-in-law, Robert Burns of Carbondale, CO; and sister-in law, Janet Hrasky of Peterborough, NH. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and those aforementioned many, many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, William Hrasky; and her very special friend, Helen Stoffel. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Diane Tetrault officiating. Pat will join her soul mate Steve in a private ceremony at Graceland Cemetery following services. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
