Pasqual 'Pete' Renteria, 82, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009. He was born on May 17, 1927 in Yuma. Pete was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Pete retired from Southern Pacific Railroad as a trackman, and worked for Sears and Yuma High School. He loved camping in the Laguna Mountains with his wife, grandchildren, and friends. Pete is survived by his sister, Abigail Delcid; his granddaughter, Jocelyn Arviso and grandsons, David Jr., Derek and Damon Yabo; his son-in-laws, David Yabo Sr. and Alphonso Varela; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathon Arviso, Devin, Darius, Donovan, Drake, Dakota, Dawson and Deyonne Yabo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angelita; his daughters, Anita Yabo and Margaret Varela; his brother, Reducindo Renteria; and his parents, Francisco and Geronima Renteria. A wake will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Scripture services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 9 a.m. at Johnson Mortuary.
