It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Parkash Kaur Manhas. Parkash was born on April 1, 1944 to Balwant Kaur and Harbans Singh Saroya in Chukhiara, Jalandhar India. Parkash moved to Canada in 1962 and married Jaswant (Bunt) Singh Manhas. Mom had three children: Krishan (Jeena), Munj (Joanna) and Sarbjit (Jesse). Nana had seven grandchildren: Lyndsi, Ayshia, Ojess, Hiya, Monica, Max and Tejveer. Parkash had two sisters: Jit (Rajinder) and Bholly (Joginder) and three brothers: Buldev (Harbhjan Kaur), Narrinder and Rabinder (Bobbie) and many nieces and nephews. She devoted much of her life to the Sikh Temple and wanted to build a better and stronger community through the temple. She also loved spending time with family and hosting dinners while cooking her famous curry chicken. You could often see mom spending time in her garden and going for walks. Thank you mom for always thinking of us by dropping off meals at our houses, being there when we needed it and for giving us unconditional love, we will truly miss you. A special heartfelt thanks to the Saanich Fire and Police departments and Paramedics that fought to save her. Also, Victoria General E.R. and I.C.U. and the Royal Jubilee I.C.U. nurses, doctors and surgeons. You are all amazing and mom's family appreciates the care and comfort that you gave her.
