Orval L. Larrabee RACINE Orval Lloyd Larrabee, age 90, passed away on September 9, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with his family by his side. Orval was born on January 9, 1926 in Fall City, WI to Floyd and Esther (nee Small) Larrabee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II. He was united in marriage to Marjory Blake on August 4, 1950. Their union lasted 60 years. He was a mechanic by trade, and owned and operated Larrabees Garage for many years--working until he was 86. He was voted as being The Best Mechanic in Racine by the Journal Times. Orval accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 8. He had two church families: Community Church of the Nazarene and A & D Biker Ministries. He was a prayer warrior and the church Candy Man. The church and Christianity were his legacy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Orval also took part in the Honor Flight for veterans and found that to be a rich and rewarding experience. Left to cherish his memories are his children: Karen Larrabee, David (Pat) Larrabee, Kathryn (Dean) Paull, Mary Larrabee, Danny Larrabee, all of Racine, Kevin (Tammy) Larrabee of Wisconsin Dells, Chuck (Laura) Larrabee of Racine; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ernest Larrabee, and other relatives and friends. Orval was preceded in death by his wife, Marjory; his grandchildren, Melisa and Jason; his sister, Ethelmae Peckham; his brother, Walter Larrabee, and his good friend Jim Thiele. Funeral services for Orval will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Community Church of the Nazarene (8440 Spring Street). Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation at the church on Tuesday, September 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, September 14 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. Memorials to the Community Church of the Nazarene or A&D Biker Ministries would be appreciated by the family.
