Di CARLO, OrlandoIt is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Orlando Di Carlo, who passed away on June 4, 2017 in Burnaby Hospital after a brief struggle with gallbladder cancer. Orlando was born on September 30, 1929 in Rocca San Giovanni, Italy. He came to Canada in 1954 and worked for most of his years in Vancouver as a Janitor for the Police Station at Main and Hastings and at Oakridge. Orlando's interests included soccer, hockey, playing cards on Commercial Drive, Italian music and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Esterina; son, Tom (Wanda); daughter, Teresa (James); grandchildren, Tom Jr. (Holly), Roberto and Francesco; great- grandson, Beau Anthony and sister, Adele. The family asks that no flowers be sent; instead, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Church with Entombment and Reception to follow. Orlando was a unique, caring man with a huge heart. He will be forever remembered.
