Dutton, Ora "Rex" 93, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Florissant, MO. Rex was born on October 20, 1922 in Valley Center, KS, the son of Orrie John and Anna Leona (Cannon) Dutton. Rex and Winifred were united in marriage on May 26, 1942 in Wichita. Together they celebrated nearly 70 years of marriage before her passing in 2011. Rex a WWII veteran, enlisted in the US Navy on Nov. of 1942 and served three years aboard the Mine Sweeper U.S.S. Pursuit in the South Pacific, he was awarded six service ribbons and 8 battle stars during his service to his country. Rex spent his entire career in the electrical industry beginning as an apprentice wireman in Wichita and retiring as a Labor Mediator for the IBEW, he retired in 1986. Rex was member of the Masonic Lodge 99 in Wichita as Master Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Lee, Paul, Doyle; sisters, Jessie and Phyllis. Survivors include his loving son, Rob (Linda) Dutton of Florissant; MO; brother, Chuck (Gloria) Dutton of Augusta; sister, Bobbie (Harold) Walter of Wichita; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services following at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the , 1861 N. Rock Rd. #380, Wichita, KS 67206.
