Nina Chriest Pierce, age 95, lifetime resident of North East, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April, 8, 1921, to the late Joseph and Petrina (Loupe) Aquiesta. Nina was formerly employed at Keystone Foods, North East Packing Company, General Electric, and Erie Resistors. She was a lifetime member of the North East American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, AARP, and St. Gregory Church. Nina enjoyed reading, bingo, ceramics, and bowling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Pierce; and siblings, Loretta Pellican, Nancy Concilla, Clara Ackley, Tony Chriest, Lee Aquiesta, John Chriest, and Marge Piazza. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Kunselman (James) of North East and Toni Conner (Ronald) of North East; grandchildren, Brian Pierce of North East, Shawn McClure of Erie, Kimberly See of North East, Ken Kunselman of Harborcreek, Kevin Pound of Millcreek, and Christopher Connor of North East; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
