Nigel Robert Ryder1960-2016Nigel Robert Ryder, 55, passed away on November 1, 2016. Nigel was born on December 25, 1960 in Nottingham, England. His compassion, caring, and amazing British wit will be missed by so many worldwide. After graduating from King Edward V Upper School in Bury St. Edmonds, he attended Trent Polytechnic in Nottingham, England. After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree, he joined Dresser Atlas which ultimately became Baker Hughes as a Seismic Engineer in Aberdeen, Scotland. After 10 years in Scotland, Nigel relocated to Singapore and ultimately Houston where he joined Sercel. Nigel enjoyed all outdoors sports including snow and waterskiing, boating, and golf. In addition, Nigel was an avid sports fan of English Rugby, Houston Texan Football and Formula 1 racing. On the weekends, Nigel and his wife Mary enjoyed their time at Lake Livingston which was their "Happy Place". He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Margaret Ryder. Nigel is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Mary; son, Artiom; and daughter Yelena; and his siblings Philip, Peter, Margaret, Richard, and Judy.
