Brigham, Nelson T. "Sarge"Nelson T. "Sarge" Brigham, age 99, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was born on September 4, 1917 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Benjamin and Gertrude (Dimpfl) Brigham. He married the former Alberta Loretta Tennessen on October 15, 1938 in St. John Catholic Church in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2009. He was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church and had worked for and retired from the SOO-Line Railroad after 31 years of service. He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting and had harvested 3 black bears, his last at age 97. He also harvested many deer and will be remembered for time spent with his oldest grandson, Jeff.He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by a son, Ronald "Rocky" (Sharon) Brigham of Omro; a daughter, Jackie (Philip) Rogge of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Rogge, Lisa (Brian) Laabs, Jason Rogge, Todd Brigham, Dennis Brigham, Amanda (Dane) Kese, Stephen Brigham and Karen Brigham. He is further survived by many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death also by a son, Jerry Brigham; two grandsons, Michael and Douglas Brigham; a granddaughter, Cheryl Rogge; two sisters, Frances Anderson and Doris Zimmerman and his special friend, Eileen Steiner.Funeral services for Nelson will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. with the Rev. William Van DeKreeke officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.
