Nancy M. (McManus) Flaherty, age 58, of Concord, died peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017 following a courageous struggle with brain cancer. For 35 years, she was the cherished wife of Joseph P. Flaherty. He remains smitten to this day. Nancy was born on April 3, 1958, in Boston, MA, to Joseph P. and Carole D. McManus of Walpole. She graduated as valedictorian of the Walpole High School Class of 1976 and received a bachelors degree in economics from Williams College in 1980. She devoted her life to building a loving home, nurturing her children, and doting on her grandchildren. Nancy possessed a deep and unwavering faith in God and the teachings of the Catholic Church, which she lived out daily until the end of her life. She was abidingly patient, thoughtful, compassionate, honest, and justand truly selfless. In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy is survived by her children, Kerry F. Rhodes and her husband James of Little Elm, TX, Meghan F. Lambert and her husband Darrell of Watertown, John J. Flaherty of Boston, and Michael P. Flaherty of Newton; her grandchildren, Adam C. Rhodes and Theresa N. Rhodes of Little Elm, TX; her siblings, Joseph P. McManus, Jr., and his wife Judith Tully of Westborough, Mary-Jane McManus of Delray Beach, FL, and Gregory D. McManus and his wife Christina of Garden City, NY, as well as a loving extended family of twelve brothers/sisters-in-law and thirty nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Nancy on Monday, March 27th from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 28th at 9 am from the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center.
