Metnik, Nancy Lee Nancy Lee Metnik, 79, passed away on September 7, 2016 at home in Corrales, NM. She was born on December 27th 1936 in Minneapolis, MN to James Henry Osborne and Helen Fern Stewart-Fleming. Nancy grew up in Minneapolis MN. She graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis, MN on June 8, 1954. After high school she attended Western Montana College of Education in Dillon, Montana where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class and earned a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She taught first grade in Mesa Arizona for several years before marrying and settling in Cumberland, WI to raise a family. She was a substitute teacher in Cumberland during these years, taught ballet and tap dance lessons and choreographed the musical "George M. Cohen" that was presented by the Cumberland High School in 1972. She went on to start a second career with the United States Postal Service and traveled around the country during her career. Eventually settling in Jemez Springs, NM where she retired as Postmaster. Nancy married Frank Metnik in 1980 in Cable, WI. They were happily married for 36 years. Nancy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and visiting with friends and family. She was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and never missed watching a game. After she retired she raised Champion Labrador Retrievers and loved her dogs as though they were her children. Nancy is survived by her husband Frank Metnik of Corrales, NM; son Bradley (Meg) Lindemann of Brookhaven, PA; son Burton Lindemann of Hertel, WI; daughter Emily (Paul) Flynn of Corrales, NM; daughter Laura (Mike) Lindberg-Madigan of Minneapolis, MN; stepson Willard (June) Metnik of Dallas, OR; stepson Bill (Tonja) Metnik of Cumberland, WI; her grandchildren Joshua and Justin Salinas; Derek, Gage, and Talon Lindemann; Jed Lindberg; Billie Jo Metnik; Grace Greway; Cousins and other relatives. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents James (Gladys) Osborne and Helen Fleming and infant son Bennett Lindemann. A private memorial was held by her family in Jemez Springs, NM.
