February 20, 1924 - November 30, 2016Known as "Mrs. Purple of San Antonio and The Queen Bee," our mother, Nancy Keator Rother, passed away November 30, 2016 after a valiant seven-year battle with Myelodysplasia. She was born on February 20, 1924 to Helen and Karl Bellack in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she spent her childhood. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward H. Keator Jr., and her second husband, Harold H. Rother. Also, predeceased by her sister, Jane Bellack Wray, and her twin brother, David M. Bellack. She is survived by her daughters, Holly Keator Denton Swanson (Jack), Judy Keator McCarter (Mack) of Shreveport, LA; sons, Edward H. Keator III (Janie), Steven D. Keator (Darlene) of Chesterton, IN. Survived by beloved grandchildren, Nancy McCarter, David McCarter (Kelli), Wes Denton, Ben Keator (Cindy), Mark Keator (Liz), Allison Keator and Matt Keator. Survived by precious great grandchildren, Kate, Collin, and Emma Clair McCarter, Jacqueline McCarter Loftin, Laney Keator and Emmie Keator. Nancy's passions in life were her family, playing weekly bridge, taking trips to Las Vegas with her grandsons, dancing, and wearing purple. She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, The Junior League of San Antonio, Battle of Flowers Association, Military Civilian Club, and Los Alegradores. A special thank you is extended to her caregivers, Imelda, Maria, Sandie, and Felisha. A visitation for the family and friends will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., at Holly's home. Memorial service Monday, December 5, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., Alamo Heights United Methodist Church Garden Chapel, reception to follow.
