RACINE - Myrtle A. (nee: Luedtke) Olson, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints. She as a lifelong resident of Racine, born on August 8, 1920, the daughter of Herman and Inga Luedtke. Myrtle was united in marriage to Francis C. Olson. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Gerald 'Doc' (Christine) Olson and Judy (Tony) Zanis all of Racine; eight grandchildren, Douglas Olson, Danielle (Mark) Sorenson, Deanna (Wes) VanMarter, Eric (Melanie) Olson, Lindsay Olson, Mike (Jane) Zanis, Victoria (Mike) Kerlin and Christopher Zanis; and 15 great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; infant son, Jeffery; brother, Herman Luedtke; sister, Ruby Orton; and granddaughter- in-law, Jodi Zanis. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. There will be a time to meet with family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. A memorial to one's favorite charity has been suggested. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center and Wheaton Franciscan Health Care- All saints for the care given to Myrtle.
