Myrna  Ronee Jones-Drain was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 24, 1950 to the union of Ernest Jones and Christine Grace  Bellinger-Jones,.  She was the youngest of 9 children.  

Myrna attended Wendell Phillips High School and Robert S. Abbott Grammar School. Myrna worked for 10 years at Illinois Bell as a Telephone Operator and Marketing Illustrator. She also worked at Dawson Skill Center doing office work. 

Myrna met her future husband, Larry Drain, while living in Wentworth Gardens.  They attended Grammar school and High School together and eventually started a family.  From this blessed union 3 children were born, Denise Darzell, Patricia Antionette, and Larry Doran.  

Myrna Jones-Drain transitioned  on July 18, 2020 and  is survived by her 3 children: Loretta Jones- Early, Ernest Jones (Florence Jones), Zelene Jones-Sutton-Williams (Lowell Williams), Paul Jones, Eugene Jones, Ronnie Jones (Flora and Renee Jones), Clarence Wayne Jones, Crystelle Jones- Warren (Eddie Warren), and .

A Message to My Mother

My Dream for you mother is that you are finally resting in a place I know you deserve to be. Be it here on earth or in Heaven. I will always walk with you Mother. I will never leave your side Mom. I walk with you forever. I wonder if people around you could have seen how amazing you are to me Mother.

Mother what if those friends' you loved were different and those friends and family that you loved so dearly loved you back

I tried to protect you mother as best I could, but God had a better plan for you. I feel comfort in knowing that God stepped in for you on this Earth when all you had was me.
