TIPTON — Monroe Wellington Uptergrove, 90, of Tipton passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Tipton Oak Manor.
He was born on April 24, 1926 in Latham, MO the son of Elbert Uptergrove and Ethel Scott. He was married on June 17, 1951 at the Latham Christian Church to Monta Clifford who survives of the home.
He was the owner of Coast to Coast for 23 years, and also worked at Bixler Appliance for 14 years. He enjoyed working on small engines, had fun building his small scale train and being in parades, he loved being around his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons James Uptergrove and his wife Rowena of Vienna, MO, Carl Uptergrove and his wife Shelby of Meriden, KS, and Mark Uptergrove and his wife Angie of Greenview, MO, nine grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Velma Rose Harris, and Vera June Newkirk Allee.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 3 – 5 P.M. at the Fortuna United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10 A.M. at the Fortuna United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Parker. Burial will be at the Latham Cemetery.
