Olmsted, Miriam N.Miriam N. Olmsted, 100, of Fond du Lac, died on May 7, 2017, at the Woodlands Senior Park.She was born on November 30, 1916, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Lamar A. and Anna V. Sears Olmsted. Miriam attended Fond du Lac schools graduating from Fond du Lac Senior High School, in the January class of 1934. She attended business education classes at Vocational School until entering Oshkosh State Teachers College in the elementary program graduating in 1939.She began teaching fifth and sixth grades in Markesan, then moved to Two Rivers, teaching fifth grade until retiring in 1979. Her remaining years were spent in Fond du Lac where she was active in both work and social activities at Covenant United Methodist Church. Miriam also volunteered in various organizations and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and card games.Miriam is survived by cousins, her loving caregiver, Agnes Hayes, many loyal and giving friends, especially her church family at Covenant United Methodist Church.VISITATION: The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 North Marr Street, Fond du Lac.SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Min Chea officiating.
