MARSTON — Minnie Louise McPherson Woods, 82, passed away to her Heavenly home on May 7, 2014.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Wagram Church of God officiated by the Rev. Richard Brewer, the Rev. Harry Clark and the Rev. Janet Woods. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Louise was born on March 3, 1932 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late James Harrellson McPherson and Rosa Lee McPherson Ray. She was the loving wife to the late Homer Woods. She devoted her life to serving the Lord and caring for her family. She was a longtime faithful member of the Wagram Church of God. She enjoyed visiting and caring for others in the nursing homes, crocheting and crafting. Louise was a cancer survivor and an outstanding supporter of .
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sons Arnell Woods and Larry Ray Woods, stepdaughter Patsy Pierce, granddaughter Stephanie Woods, and brother Fred McPherson.
Louise leaves behind her sons Melvin Woods and wife the Rev. Janet Woods of Chesapeake, Va., Terry Lee Woods of Marston, and Gary Gene Woods and wife Susan, Ronald Richard "Ricky" Woods and wife Elaine, and Ronald Mitchell Woods all of Chesapeake, Va., daughter Kay Shelton of Southern Pines, stepson Homer Campbell Woods, Jr. of Pineville, Ga., brother Harry McPherson and wife Betty of Laurel Hill, sister Diane Morgan and husband Archie of Laurel Hill, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and her special friends Joe and Pat Quick of Wagram.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
Mrs. Woods requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in her memory to for her team, "Circle of Hope" at 13291 Wesleyan Drive, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
