Jun 07, 1924 - Jul 06, 2017

This obituary is administered by:
Englebert, Milton ElroyMilton Elroy Englebert, 93, Green Bay, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 6, 2017. Milton was born on June 7, 1924, in Rosiere, WI to Victoria and Frank Englebert. After graduating from Wrightstown High School, Milton served in the U.S. Army. Milton served as a tank driver in France during World War II. Following an accidental weapon discharge by a fellow soldier, Milton stayed behind in France where he served in a support role. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he attended business school in Green Bay.In 1947, he met Eunice Bracker. They married a year later, on May 19, 1948 and started a family. Milt worked as a painter with his brother-in-law, Frank Sargin before going to work at the former Pauly Cheese Company as a maintenance mechanic. He retired in 1985 after 40 years of service. After retiring, Milt turned all of his focus to his family and loved spending time with all of them. Although, his favorite hobby was definitely caring for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending his days babysitting, taking them to appointments and supporting them in everything they did. After family, came his love for sports - watching tennis, bowling and of course cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. For Milton, a lifelong Cub fan, watching them win the World Series was the thrill of a lifetime. In his later years, Milton enjoyed visiting his favorite grocery store and the wonderful workers that would quickly become friends. Most of the time you could find him in the bakery or at the meat counter bragging about his "Cubbies", even when there was nothing to brag about at times! He is survived by one sister, Doris (John) Hils of Orlando, FL; four children: Janice (David) Nosack, Eagle Point, OR; Michael "Bert" Englebert, Little River, WI; Brent Englebert, Green Bay, WI; Bruce (Sue) Englebert, Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren, Mark Gillame, Jeff Gillame, Jennifer (Adam) Reams, Stacey (Matt) Parrish and Melissa (Al) Van Gheem; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; his parents; three brothers, Marvin, Richard, Clifford; and three sisters, Marion, Lorraine and Beatrice.Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, followed by the the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
