Palmer, Milton C. "Milty"Milton "Milty" C. Palmer, age 74, New London, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Friday, November 10, 2017. He was born on December 17, 1942, son of the late Norton and Alice (McGowan) Palmer. As Milty would say "We were shackin up from 1975 to June 8th, 1990, the day we made it legal", marriage to Merilyn Volz. Milty had many talents: chain saw carving; making gadgets for Merilyn, to make her life easier, teaching himself to fly ultralights and growing flowers in his yard. He enjoyed mopeding with his wife and spending time with their dogs. Milty drove semi for many years, retired from the New London Parks Department and also did multiple other jobs in his working career. He is survived by his wife Merilyn; daughters, Kim Palmer and Lisa Young; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, special friends, Tom and Evelyn Ruppel, many other relatives and friends. Milty was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tim; brothers, Howard (Agnes) Palmer and Gordon (Sonya) Palmer; son-in-law, Tony Young; step siblings, Guy, Clarence and Glenn Jensen, Charlotte Westphal, Irene Hamel and Edna Spencer.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established; memorials can be directed to the funeral home (PO BOX 119 New London).The family would like to thank the ThedaCare Hospice staff and nurses for all the care they have shown to Milty during his illness.As per Milty's wishes there will be no funeral ceremony.
