Mike A. LenzCREVE COEUR - Mike A. Lenz, 62, of Creve Coeur passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 6:13 a.m. at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Mike was born on November 2, 1953, in Peoria to Charles "Chuck" and Ladean Downing Lenz. He married Gale Burtsfield on June 20, 1978, in Morton. She survives and resides in Creve Coeur.Also surviving are his four children, Chad Binkley of Creve Coeur, Nathan Binkley of Colorado Springs, CO, Amanda Lenz of East Peoria and Stephanie (Eric) Nelson of Camp Grove; three grandchildren, Abbie, Paydon and Caleb; and two brothers, Jay Lenz of Missouri and Chuck Lenz of Pekin. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Lenz.Mike was a 1972 graduate of Morton High School. Throughout his working career, he worked for various companies and factories in the area as a forklift operator. He loved country music and The Beatles. He enjoyed watching old Westerns and The Andy Griffith Show. Above all else, Mike was a loving and caring husband, father, grandpa and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made the of Illinois.A funeral service for Mike will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor James Frye will officiate. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
