Michael J. Dolnik1952 - 2016Michael J. Dolnik, 64, of Kenosha, died peacefully at his residence on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on July 1, 1952, and was the son of the late Rudolph P. and Alice M. (Grno) Dolnik. He attended St. Anthony's Grade School, St. Bonaventure Prep School and was a graduate from St. Joseph High School.He was formerly married to Laurie Fuhrer. Their union was blessed with two sons, Bradley and Bryan. On Aug. 6, 2005, he was united in marriage to Kathy Knudtson.Michael was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He honorably served his community as a police officer for the City of Kenosha until his retirement in 2007. Michael enjoyed all sports; especially playing hockey, golf, and bowling. His voice was made for music, as he would sing Bohemian Rhapsody with his brothers at weddings. Michael enjoyed taking vacations to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Door County and visiting various casinos. He also enjoyed his morning coffee with the guys at Frank's Diner. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dolnik; his two sons, Bradley (Stephanie Hoyer) Dolnik and Bryan (Samantha) Dolnik; his brothers, Robert (Laura) Dolnik and John (Pat) Dolnik; his two sisters, Pattie Dolnik Arneson and Joni Dolnik Haarbaurer; and his grandchildren, Landon Joseph Dolnik, Riley Rose Dolnik and a grandson in February, 2017. Michael is further survived by his uncle John Grno, who was like a brother to him.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother in-law, Orlynn and Connie Knudtson; and his brother-in-law, Bill Arneson.Funeral Services honoring Michael's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery. A visitation for Michael will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 4, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.
