Menthia Ment Brown Menthia Louise Ment Brown, 64, of California formerly of Lubbock, died peacefully at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA, on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016. She was born on June 15, 1952, in Waco, Texas, to the parentage of Todd McGee and Alphia Norwood. Menthia attended and graduated from Estacado High School. Menthia worked with San Andreas Regional Center for 20 plus years; also served on the Board of Directors for Capitol Manor and later became the Board President. Menthia was a member of Milpitas Seventh Day Adventist Church. Menthia is preceded in death by her mother Alphia Jewel Norwood. Menthia is survived by her only child LaSonia Brown; her granddaughter, LaKeisha Alexander; grandsons DJ and Devante; her great-grandson Darron; four brothers, Bennard McGee, Kelvin Hall, Anthony Hall, and David Earl McGee; a sister Sandra McGee, Aunt Rosena Evans; Uncle Floyd Lee Norwood and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
