Melinda Rogers Weatherford, 59, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at CMC Northeast, in Concord. Melinda was born on Aug. 22, 1957 in Rowan County to the late Billy Harold Rogers and Mae Frances Redwine Rogers. Melinda was a graduate of West Rowan High School where she excelled to Head Majorette. She was awarded Best All-Around Majorette at the Charlotte Carousel Parade. Melinda enjoyed camping with the family, hiking, sailing with her husband, the weekends at Lake Norman, trips to Carolina Beach, lighthouses, ferryboat rides to Southport and vacations to Walt Disney World. She was employed with the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union. She was a member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Steve Weatherford, whom she married on Sept. 15, 1984. In addition, she is survived by daughters, Erica Nichole (Nikki) Weatherford of Salisbury and Shanna Leigh Weatherford Dixon (Silas) of Sanford, Fla.; brothers, Billy Michael Rogers of High Point and James Curtis Rogers (Susan) of Rockingham; and grandson, Dashiel (Dash) Dixon. She was a loving wife, mother, Mimi to her grandson Dash, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed by all. Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, 1630 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144 with the Rev. Caroll Williams-Gilbert, the Rev. Steve Combs and the Rev. Steve Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
