Born in 1943 in Miami FL May received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from South Dakota State College in 1966. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota, from which she received her M.Ed. in Nursing in 1969.
May taught Nursing at the University of Miami in the mid-1970s and worked at various psychiatric nursing facilities throughout southern Miami area in the 1970s where she worked until her retirement in 2009
May loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
She is survived by her niece, Tabitha Winslow and several grandnieces, grandsons, grandma daughters son's, daughter's, sister's and brothers all of whom live in southern Miami and brought great joy to her later years.
