Mauno Korhonen, of Geraldton, ON, passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2017, at the age of 85. Mauno was born on June 10, 1931 in Bingley, AB. He was employed with Kimberly Clark/Neenah Paper as an operator for 35 years. Mauno loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and socializing with his friends. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Mauno is survived by his sons, Marcel Leclerc (Prince Albert, AB) and Andre Leclerc (Diane) (Edmonton, AB), and his daughter Linda Leclerc (Winnipeg, AB); 4 grandchildren, Ernest Leclerc, Debbi Brisebois, Dustin Leclerc and Leah Marie Leclerc; 6 great grandchildren, Devin, Kyla, Chyanne, Cailey, Cydney and Aurelia; 3 sisters, Maila Anderson (Oliver BC), Maira Moos (Clarence) (Eckville, AB), Maija Korhonen (Edmonton, AB), and 1 brother Eric Korhonen (Whitecourt, AB); as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm in Geraldton on Saturday January 28, at St James Anglican Church - 527 Main Street, with Reverend Jari Lathtien officiating. The service will be followed by a light lunch. Interment service will take place in Thunder Bay at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. James Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated.
