Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sun., Oct. 25, 2015 at Palms Robarts Funeral Home in Sarasota, FL. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Mon., at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, www.palmsrobartsfuneralhome.com. He was born on November 24, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Rose Zita. Matthew was a long time member of St. Martha Catholic Church, where he was an usher. He served on the board of American Farm Bureau Federation, Florida Cattlemen Association and Tamaron Homeowner's Association. Matthew retired after over 30 years of truck driving. Matthew and his family moved to Florida in 1978. He owned and operated Warrens Shoe Store on Main Street for 27 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Irene Marie Zita. Survivors include his daughters, Johanna Zita and Eileen Borome and her husband, Joseph; 1 brother Ralph; 3 sisters, Carmella, Antoinette and Philomena; 3 grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Katie, Jessica and Andrea and 3 great grandchildren, Sophia, Lauren and Luca.
