Mary (Wiezalis) Zukis, 95, of Plainville passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016. Mary was born on August 7, 1921 in Hartford to Casimer and Cecelia Wiezalis and lived there until moving to Plainville in 1952. She was the widow of Peter G. Zukis, to whom she was married for 29 years. After moving to Plainville, Mary was a stay at home mom for many years and then worked at Connecticut Spring in Farmington until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of mercy Church. Mary loved life and enjoyed dancing at the Polish Home in Hartford, Knitting, crocheting and was a remarkable cook. Her recipes will live on for generations to come. Above all she enjoyed her family and friends. Always ready with a smile and a laugh, she brought joy to all who knew her. Beside her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Charles Wiezalis, and sisters Frances Pribyson, Helen Grabek and ceil Folcik. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Swingle and her husband Paul of Jaffrey, NH and sons Peters Zukis and his wife Karen of Talent, OR and Paul Zukis and his wife Shirley of Farmington, CT. She leaves five grandchildren, Nathan, Alyssa, Martin, Marshall and Erin, four great grandchildren, Lucas, Sadie, Harper and Ford, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends its sincere thanks to the staff, Dr. Bogdansky and her friends at Apple Rehab in Plainville for their exceptional care and friendship. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 94 Broad Street in Plainville, CT. Burial will follow in saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Calling hours will precede the mass on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville.
