Themer, MaryMary E. Themer, Township of Lessor, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at her home with her son, Dennis, at her side. Mary was born on December 7, 1930, to the late Herman and Elizabeth (Nickodem) Lasecki. Mary graduated with Class of 1949 from Pulaski High School, where she had been a Red Raider Cheerleader. She married the love of her life, Martin R. Themer, on September 4, 1954, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park. Martin preceded Mary in death on September 24, 2013.Mary worked for the Northern Shoe Division of Briarwood Shoe Corporation ("Shoe Factory") in Pulaski from 1947 to 1979 as a sample pattern cutter. After the Shoe Factory went out of business, Mary took a position with Pekin Shoe Factory in Clintonville for a few years. At age 53, she took a position with Carver Yachts in Pulaski. Mary retired at age 60 with her husband, Martin.In Mary's younger years, she was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, owning season tickets for a long time. Mary and her husband were also avid Milwaukee Brewers fans, taking bus trips to watch the Brewers play in Milwaukee. She also liked the time she spent at her cottage in Crandon, affectionately named "Themer's Tall Timbers," enjoying the beauty of the Northwoods, fishing and snowmobiling. Mary and Martin were avid dancers and they would grace the dance floors at weddings or public dances around the area with family and friends.Mary was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hofa Park and worked many church picnics. Mary is survived by her loving son, Dennis, Township of Lessor; sisters and brothers, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Arlene (Cyril) Smith, Aurelia Lasecki, Anna Lasecki, Ernest (Pat) Lasecki, Vernon "Pete" (Janet) Lasecki, and Evelyn Hannegraf. Mary is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews, too numerous to mention.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her parents; three brothers: Daniel Lasecki, Harvey Lasecki, and Valentine "Bill" Lasecki; sisters: Eleanor Lasecki and Rita Ingvalsen; brothers-in-law: Clayton "Snooks" Ingvalsen and Nick Hannegraf. Mary was also preceded in death by brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Maynard (Mary Ruth) Themer, LaVerne (Clifford) Raaths, Dorothy (Robert) Isakson and Geneva (Edwin) Lahiff. Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 119 E. Pulaski Street, Pulaski, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 NOON. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 NOON, Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. A funeral luncheon will be provided. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Hofa Park, thereafter.
