Mary "Carol" (Ohleyer) Phillips80, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 17, 2016, in Indianapolis.  Carol was born on Dec. 24, 1935, in Indianapolis and was the daughter of John E. and Loretta Ohleyer. Carol was a 1953 graduate of Ladywood School in Indianapolis and attended Fontbonne College for Women in Clayton, Missouri.Carol was a nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for 19 years and retired in 1998.  Carol was an avid cat and animal lover, and enjoyed ballroom dancing.Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward J. Ohleyer, all of Indianapolis. Carol is survived by two sons, James R. Phillips of Waxahachie, Texas, and David E. Phillips of Birmingham, Mich.; a daughter, Judith A. Phillips of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, a great-grandson, and her cat, Henry Mancini.A private mass, at Carol's request, and burial at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, are planned. Donations may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude, 205 West Monroe St., Chicago, Ill., 60606; Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, Indianapolis; or the Indianapolis Humane Society. Arrangements: Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.
