AUBURN — Mary Joyce McDaniel, age 75, of Auburn passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at DeKalb Health in Auburn. Mrs. McDaniel was born on Jan. 4, 1941, in Garrett to William and Laurette (Schortgen) Carpenter. She graduated in 1959 from Butler High School. She married Jon Allen McDaniel on Jan. 23, 1960 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn. He resides in Auburn. Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and watching her grandchildren. She was a member of the the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn, the Garrett Eagles Auxiliary and the Garrett American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Jon McDaniel of Auburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori Lee and Dusty Bock of Waterloo; two sons, James E. McDaniel of Auburn and Victor A. McDaniel of Garrett; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Lee Carpenter of Hicksville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jeremy Kline; two sisters, Jeanette Herzeg and Elaine Bonner; and two brothers, William Carpenter Jr. and Richard Carpenter. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St. in Auburn. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Thursday at the church. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn. Officiating the funeral Mass will be Father Derrick Sneyd.
