Mary M. Wilson passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Mary was a native of Yuma, but she moved with her family to Los Angeles, CA and attended Garfield High. She was born on November 18, 1911 to the late Jesus and Francisca Marquez.During the late 40's and early 50's, she opened her store ""Mary's Dress Shop"", and later on, turned it into a Bridal Shop.Mary was very active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Auxiliary. She was local president 3 times, and an AZ State Madam President. She was an active member for over 64 years. She enjoyed the challenge of working with the other members to earn money for the Eagles Charities. Mary was also an American Legion member for over 47 years. She enjoyed traveling with both organizations for conventions and conferences. Mary loved dancing with her husband Robert, gardening, and cooking for family and friends.She was preceded in death, by Miguel Lopez, Charles Burrell, and Robert F. Wilson; her brother, Ramon Marquez; sisters, Rita Zavala, Jessie Sanchez, and Socorro Lopez. Mary is survived by her sons, William Cruz Marquez (Monica) and Dr. Robert Wilson Jr. (Dr. Martha); daughter, Mary Frances Wilson Omer (Jack); 10 grandchildren, William Marquez Jr. (Connie), Desiree Zapata, Angela Harmon(Kurt), Francis Joseph, Mary Ellen Marquez, Madeline Wilson Menna (Ron), Genevieve Wilson Castro(Jerry), Jack Omer Jr. (Julie), Robert Omer (Cyndi), and Noelle Omer; 9 great grandchildren, Desiree Arteaga (Fred), Scott Harmon (Ashlee), William Harmon, Danielle Marquez, Trey Menna, Rachel Menna, Logan Omer, Lauren Omer, and Amelia Omer; 3 great-great grandchildren, Janay, Noah, and Jaxson Arteaga. She also leaves behind her sister, Delia Cano (Phillip); and special great niece, Michelle Cedillo.Mary loved her family, adored her nephews and nieces, and she really enjoyed her friends. She leaves us with wonderful memories of her, her hard work ethic, and lots of old time family stories.She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and the Roman Catholic faith. Her viewing will be on March 19, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Avenue. Mass will be on Friday March 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 505 S. Avenue B, Yuma with Msgr. Richard O'Keefe officiating. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
