Mary M. SatterleeJuly 19, 1924 - Nov. 24, 2016SOUTH BEND - Mary M. Satterlee, 92, of the Caring Cottage in South Bend, IN, left this world to go to the eternal love of God. She passed away on Thanksgiving day, November 24, 2016. Mary was born on July 19, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Russell and Mildred Vance who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Bona Jean Bates and two granddaughters, Joanne Sexton Moore and Trish Wyllie. On February 15, 1956 she married Richard (Dick) Satterlee who preceded her in death on June 11, 2012. She is survived by four daughters, Judy Huckins of Chandler, AZ, Lois Horvath (Joe) of Osceola, IN, Marcia Frost of South Bend, IN and Ginny (Fred) Fuller of Colorado Springs, CO; and two sisters, Carol Endsley of Ft. Wayne, IN and Suzanne (Fred) Barnett of Mishawaka, IN.She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary retired from UniRoyal in Mishawaka, IN after 38 years of service.She and Richard moved to Englewood, FL where she started a second career at Ringling Brothers Circus in Venice, FL, retiring after 10 years working as an office manager and administrative assistant to the V.P. of Transportation and Director of Purchasing as well as executives from Washington, D.C. during the Winter Quarters. She was active in the Clown Circus which won her the 1991 Woman of the Year award for the Lemon Bay Charter of the American Women's Business Association. Cremation has taken place and interment and a memorial service will be held in Florida at a later date.Her unending love, gentleness and kindness will be remembered and missed.Donations may be made to Caring Cottage of South Bend or to Grace Hospice of South Bend.
