Mary Lou Huffman, 70, passed away Dec. 5, 2016, from complications due to multiple myeloma, a battle she fought for nine years. Mary Lou was born on Feb. 18, 1946, to Frank and Eleanora Juricek. She lived her entire life in Spokane, graduated from Rogers High School and summa cum laude from Eastern Washington University with a degree in social work. She married Ted Huffman in 1967 and had a son and a daughter. She was a homemaker and also worked as a medical assistant and social worker. She loved laughter, animals, and the sun. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father, Frank; mother, Eleanora; and brother, William. She is survived by her husband, Ted; son, Michael; daughter, Keri Sue; and sister, Kathy Fritz, all of Spokane; along with several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to SCRAPS or the . At her request, there will be no service. However, a gathering of family and friends remembering Mary Lou will be held at a later date.
