Mary Ellen Leeman1930 - 2014Mary Ellen Leeman, daughter of Augusta Helen and William George Henry, was born on Jan. 9, 1930, in Kingsford, Mich. She peacefully passed away at her home in her granddaughters arms, Gusty and Jacqui, along with her favorite niece Lori Plazek on July 22, 2014. Mary was very well-loved by all who had the honor of meeting her. Mary was married to her one and only true love, Robert John Leeman, in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 25, 1948. During their marriage Bob and Mary moved from Chicago to Milwaukee and later Kenosha. Their life was blessed in so many ways and they were able to purchase their beautiful Camp on Leeman Road in Sagola, Mich., where they have a private burial site.An immediate visitation with her grandchildren was held at her home with a sermon performed by Minister James Moore. A mass at St. Peters Catholic Church by Father Ireneusz Chodakowski was held on Wednesday, July 23. There will be a private service held at the Kenosha Community Church on August 23.Mary gave birth to her and Bobs dearly loved six children, Robert Lester Leeman (Laura Hill), Thomas Warren Leeman (Cathy Rau), Jacklynn Sue Kafura (Anthony), and their baby, Helen Ann Ladd (Howard). Mary was preceded in death by her beloved daughters Georgia Jean Rechlitz (Glenn), and Jeanine Marie Atkinson (Jimmie Lee).Marys most enjoyable times during her life were spent playing cards, fishing on the Mary Ellen, raising championship dogs, traveling with Bob in their Airstream, being at their Camp in Michigan and above all spoiling the grandchildren, Perry William Rechlitz (Laurie Hubbard), Augusta Helen Barth Rechlitz, Leyna Marie Dale (Bryan), Robert Freeman Atkinson, Mary Ellen Atkinson, Melody Jean Leeman, Eric William Ladd, Brett Leeman Ladd, Douglas Howard Ladd (Susan Vignieri), Craig Joseph Ladd (Jennifer Baenen), Jacquelyn and Joanna Wolosz, Shannon Anne Mary Kafura, and Betzi Elizabeth Anne Ruebsamen in addition to her great-grandchildren Kayla Siever, Emily and Christine Dale, Natalia, Carter and Kian Ladd, Annie and Emmy Ladd, and Dakota and Sadie Hubbard and dozens of nieces and nephews.Mary leaves behind one brother, Bobbi Henry (Geri) as well as several-in-laws, Bernice Dahlgren (Ted), Marion Bubaloni (John), Evelyn Purcell (Paul), Donna Dove, and Gla Leeman (Sally), and was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Plazek (John), Patsy Rodman (Mike), Billy Henry (Bev) and brother-in-law Sonny Leeman (Donna). Robert would like to thank Hospice Alliance, Doctors Kathleen Beckmann, Scott Feldy, Joseph Weber, Ikram Rashid and their staff, St. Peters Catholic Church and the Kenosha Community Church for their support during this difficult time.
