Mary Kathleen "Kay" CollinsRhodesdale-Mary Kathleen "Kay" Collins passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Manor House in Seaford. She was 93.She was born on March 6, 1923 on her family's farm in Galestown, the daughter of the late Waitman Ralph Willey and Alice Alverda Wheatley Willey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Holmes Collins, Jr. in 1979.She graduated in 1940 from Hurlock High School. Kay served as postmaster and retired from the postal system at the age of 70. She was very involved at Brookview United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer of the W.S.C.S. and held many other positions within the church. When her children were at North Dorchester H.S. she was very involved in the PTA and was acknowledged one year as the PTA Family of the Year. Kay was a devoted member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Eldorado-Brookview V.F.C., the Federalsburg Senior Center, and served as a volunteer for Nanticoke Hospital for many years. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and was a devoted caregiver to her mother-in-law for many years. Kay is survived by three children, Mary Alyce Thomson and her husband, Bruce of Lancaster, PA, Joanne Miller and her husband, Kerry of Jamestown, NC, Dale Collins and his wife, Susan of Rhodesdale, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. She was the last of 11 daughters and she leaves a host of nieces and nephews in which she always enjoyed seeing them at the Collins', Willey's, and Wheatley's Family Reunions. She was also preceded in death by her son, Alan "Semi" Collins.Funeral services for her will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Brookview United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Wheatley officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m.- 11a.m. at the church with interment to follow the services at Brookview Cemetery.
