Mary Jane MockJan. 07, 1924 - Jan. 26, 2017MISHAWAKA - Mary Jane Mock, 93, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017, in North Woods Village Memory Care, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on January 7, 1924 to the late Dale and Pearl (Amick) Crawford. On May 17, 1947, as Mary Jane Crawford, she married Merle J. Mock, who preceded her in death on September 2, 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Donald) Knapp of South Bend, Indiana, Lesa (Casimir) Sikora of Vandalia, Michigan; one son, Gary Mock of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren: Keith (Melanie) Knapp, Bruce (Patti) Knapp, Tracy Knapp, Matthew (Jamie) Sikora, Dawn (Lanny) Kistler, Jennifer (Marc) Whitmer, Melissa Mock and Michael (Jeni) Mock; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; three brothers, Harold Crawford and Walter (Glory) Crawford, both of Granger, Indiana and Larry (Barb) Crawford of South Bend, Indiana; and one sister-in-law, Brenda Crawford of Owensboro, Ky. Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Russell, Kathryn Sater and Joan Crawford; and two brothers, Robert and Harry Crawford. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where friends may visit for two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Mary always had a garden, and loved to be outside. She was an excellent cook. Mary was a warm and loving mother, and being the oldest of nine children, she continued to be a caregiver throughout her life for anyone in need. She loved to travel and enjoyed Sunday drives with her husband. While her husband was still alive, she was also able to take several cruises with her family.
