Geise, MaryMary Jane Geise, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning October 3, 2017 at Grand Horizon of Appleton. Mary was born on May 30, 1929 in Gresham, Wisconsin daughter of the late Alfred and Alma (Lindow) Richards. On august 7, 1948 she married Gerald E. Geise, Sr., in Shawano, WI, They just celebrated their 69th anniversary. They lived in Shawano until 1967 then moved to Neenah. In 1970 they moved to Appleton where together they owned and operated Hamples Corner for 30 years. After the sale of the bar she tended bar at the Red Fox Supper Club for many years. She loved watching the brewers, playing bingo, and especially spending time with her huge family and friends. She was a long time faithful member of St Edward Catholic Parish.She is survived by her husband, Gerald and seven children, Sharel (Kevin) Watermolen, Gerald Geise, Jr., Steve (Nancy) Geise, Michael (Laureen) Geise, Loren (Sandy) Geise, Lisa (Tom Berryhill) Geise and Scott Geise, 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by two daughters, Lori and Sheila, two great-grandchildren, Kayla Schutt and Joshua Geise, and her siblings, Betty Giese, Roger and Dan RichardsThe Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Parish N2926 State Highway 47 Appleton, with the Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Shawano. Mary's family will receive relatives and friends at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 9:30 until 11:15 a.m.
