Mary Frances (Daggs) Buck89, of Lafayette, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:55 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at her residence.Mary was born on June 7, 1927, in Evansville. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Gertrude "Trudy" Daggs. She was raised by her step father, Dale Marquess, after the death of her mother in 1935. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1945. She later attended the Rudea Cosmetology School in Lafayette. She was the owner and stylist for Mary's Beauty Shop for 35 years, retiring in 1989.Mary married Charles W.G. Buck on October 27, 1945 in Corpus Christy, TX where he was stationed in the Navy. They returned to the Attica area after his service and had lived in the area for 40 years before moving to Lafayette in 1989. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2008.Mary was a past secretary/treasurer of the disbanded Riverside EUB Church. She later joined the Free Methodist Church in Attica. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fern Chapter #194 and had served as a past Grand Ruth. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Tri Arts Club, Attica Home Ec Club and the Golden Gems Red Hats of Lafayette.Mary will be missed by all her friends and family as she was a joy to be with. Survivors include a two sons, Phillip "Pete" (Judy) Buck, Lafayette and Charles (Loretta) Buck, Shadeland; a daughter, Kitte (Jim) Coplea, West Point; nine grandchildren, Angie (Chuck) Fink, Amber (Alan Ocha) Richards, Stephen (Kaydra) Buck, Fred (Teri) VanHook, Shane (Shari) VanHook, Andy Buck, Mandy Taylor, Bryan (Mishelle) Coplea and Tricia (Steve) Smith; and is blessed to have 15 great-grandchildren.Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, April 3rd, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Dan Reece & Phil Buck officiating.
