Gilbert, Mary F.Mary F. Gilbert, Neenah, age 90, passed away peacefully at Parkview Health Center on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Mary was born on January 26, 1926 in Duluth, MN, daughter of the late Philip and Helen (Reeves) Frost.While attending the
University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, her brother Chuck, and wife Lou, set her up on a blind date where she met her husband Don in 1948. On April 23, 1949, Mary married Donald A. Gilbert in Minneapolis and soon thereafter, Don's career moved them to St. Louis, MO where Mary raised their children, was active in the Des Peres Presbyterian Church and maintained the Gilbert household while Don traveled. In 1971, the Gilbert's moved to the Fox Valley and established their home.Mary had a passion for clothing and fellowship. She worked at Carlson's Closet and Westover House and volunteered at the Bergstrom Mahler Museum over the years. She was active in Bible Study at First Presbyterian Church as well as a member of PEO. She had many joys, from family and friends, to babies and birds, painting and plants, socializing with her thread count friends, cooking, baking, playing games and most of all, an overwhelming love for her granddaughters. Anyone who ever met Mary, will never forget her beautiful smile and infectious giggle.Survivors include Mary's three daughters, Cathy (Dan) VanVreede, Roswell, GA, Ann Mrotek, Roswell, GA, Peggy (Kareem) Messawer, Johns Creek, GA; four granddaughters: Amanda Chesney (Matt), Amy Mrotek, Mimi and Isabelle Messawer and her first great grandchild, Mason Chesney; her brother-in-law Robert C. Clark, Boulder City, NV, her brother Charles (Lou) Frost, Stillwater, MN; and three nephews, David, Tom and Peter Frost and their families.A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, 200 Church St., Neenah, with the Rev. Paul W. Huxtable officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.Westgor Funeral Home205 W.
